Is Prof. Dr. Timur Timurkaynak eating fish or chicken?

Nutritional cultures are not about bellybands, but about the flavors that crack the palate. Not quantity, flavor is important. Instead of a plate of pasta, a spoonful of pasta is important. I do not eat to be full up. I do not take a second spoon if I’m happy. I think the main reason for obesity is that we lack enough tasty food. Every time we eat 5 spoons, 10 spoons to get the flavor.

It is not possible that something tasty is unhealthy. All of these flavors are in Mediterranean cuisine. For example, no sausage, fermented sausage,  But don’t we want them at all. Once in a while the seduction of flavor is needed. The meal is a ceremony. My understanding of meal is to eat, talk and share. My philosophy is to live for eating.

I EAT FISH INSTEAD OF CHICKEN

Q: Are you eating white meat? Which one and which parts? Chicken wings or lean chicken ?

A: White meat is a fish for me. I eat seasonal fish. I care about not being a farm fish. Cooking style is important, I prefer the grill. Steamed fish are also healthy. I was eating chicken in my childhood. But then I took the chicken out of my meals. The reason for this is is not suitable taste, it is not taste free. Because I can not get the smell of chicken from my childhood.

Q: In the last days, everyone is rushing to find and buy village hen / village egg. What were we eating as chicken / eggs before? Could this be a marketing tactic? How can we really tell if there is such a distinction?

A: Eating chickens have no relation to heart health. But it is abundant and easily accessible protein source. Turkish people usually want easy solutions. Every claimed to be natural food can not be natural. They have to be controlled with reliable mechanisms. The egg is quite tasty but rich in cholesterol. For this reason, there is a limited consumption benefit. I think village egg village chick craving is a longing for the flavor we once had. Today, however, even village chickens are fed with artificial food. Organic food is very difficult to find and expensive.

Q: Chickens fed with organic food and grown under special conditions are called ‘organic chickens’. Can we understand that there is really an organic chicken, how can we distinguish betwwen them?

A: We can not understand by tasting or believing what we are told. However, it is necessary to rely on products that have passed the inspection of reliable companies and  having organic certifications.
